About Us

Our History

In 1996, guided by quilter Judy Forrest, ten quilters from Viewpoint Golf & RV Resort joined together to form the first quilting group on site. Judy had gone to the office of the resort to see if they had a room which could accommodate 10 women with sewing machines. Their first room was a computer room which flooded repeatedly, then they outgrew that room and took over a hobby room, then two hobby rooms, then three! The first President was Lou Ann Pedernell during the 2nd or 3rd year and that was when they had outgrown the hobby rooms as they had grown to 22 members the second year and then to 55 members the third year! Today we have well over 100 members! Listed below were the founding members - some who are still members today. We owe a debt of service to all of them for what they have done to help make the group what it is today.
