About Quilters Point of View Club

Purpose and Goals:  Our goal is to provide educational opportunities in hand and machine quilting techniques for the new and experienced quilter, in a sharing and friendly environment, by providing weekly meetings, hands-on classes, show and tell, demos and tips, guest speakers, trunk shows and our annual quilt show.

With over 100 members, our QPOV Club meets in Viewpoint's Kokopelli Room weekly on Friday mornings each season from November through March.

Meetings include Club business, class descriptions and sign-up, demonstrations by members of quilting/sewing tips and projects.  "Show and Tell" concludes the meeting.  A social time following allows members to view the "Show and Tell" projects.  It is also an opportune time to sign up for classes and shop hops, or for new members to register.  Meetings may also include speakers from local quilt shops or design studios, and/or Trunk Shows from other quilt clubs in the area.

Activities throughout the season include classes, challenge projects, quilts of valor, charity quilts, Fiber Arts, Red Work Group, machine embroidery, and American Girl Doll clothes.  Classes are available to members at minimal cost.  Classes including beginner, intermediate, machine embroidery, appliqué, paper piecing, portfolios, IPad covers, tote bags, etc. are some offered.

The hard work of the members is displayed in a Quilt Show the last Saturday of February.  Each year this show draws hundreds of people from the local area to view the many varied projects on display.  At this show, a gift quilt sewn by members of the club is raffled off.  Some of the proceeds from this quilt are donated to local charities.

If you are a ViewPoint resident and are interested in becoming a QPOV member, join us on Friday mornings from November through March at 9:00 a.m. in the ViewPoint's Kokopelli Room.  The annual fee is just $15 per year!!
